John McLarty & Lisa Law moved to Port Williams from Ontario wanting to start their own winery. Just outside Port Williams they found a piece of property, and begun to create the 7.5 acre Vineyards (Planters Ridge). They have planted Riesling grapes along with Castel, New York Muscat, L'Acadie and Marquette. They are set to open in 2014.
Hemlock timbers with curved braces provide not only the structure in the basement but create an ambiance reminiscent of old country winerys.
